I am proud to share that the valuable contributions of the Philanthropists and Lions club of Nidadavole led to the establishment of Sri Velagapudi Ramakrishna Government Degree College for Men in the year 1971 at Nidadavole. The unrelenting efforts of Sri Venkata Ratnam (Secretary, College Committee) made to secure land (9 acres and 68 cents) for the construction of the buildings. Smt. Rajeswari Ramakrishna, Managing Director of the V.V.S.Sugars and Cane growers donated a huge amount for the construction of the present Buildings.

      The college is surrounded by about 50 villages and it has been catering the needs of the higher education for the poor and agriculture-based families of the villages. Right from the beginning the college provided value-based education with high quality and standards to shape the lives of the poor people with total support for the education to the women.

      The college is located in the pleasant environment surrounded by paddy fields and eco-friendly atmosphere. With great teaching-learning ambience and enough infrastructure and well-equipped laboratories and learning tools the college shaped into a knowledge resource center and now it is fulfilling all the modern learning establishments and resources. All the stakeholders of this college are continuously concentrating their efforts for the development of the college into a model knowledge disseminating center to the global society.

      In addition, excellent discipline in the student community of the college, enriched establishment, student supporting systems, the financial support by the government, timely revised syllabus, supporting modules of the syllabus, introduction of excellent course structures by government and university, online and off-line education media and finally the job-oriented, skill promoting, value based policies of the higher authorities of the collegiate education system will be certainly an added advantage to the college for the ISO certification programme.
